the hotel will set up in lots of different ways to give you lots of ideas for your own special day, goldfish bowls, ostrich feathers, candelabras with crystals, draping and backdrops – hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Liz and Brett on their wedding on NYE at Buxted Park. what a way to finish the year!

we supplied tall candelabras with hanging vintage crystals which look amazing in the ballroom as they complement the chandeliers so well. we also supplied our super stylish chiavari chairs and as an added touch we tied sashes onto the chairs to complement the bridesmaids dress in midnight blue – sash-tacular!

on each curtain we hung voile fabric drapes with soft lighting accents behind each one and Ian at disco fever had set the uplighters to match the colour theme too, which created a wash of light onto each column in the room

we also added candles and lanterns onto the mantelpieces and radiator covers for lots of special ambience and by the time we had finished the room did look truly magical – considering the day was one of the wettest this winter it didn’t matter – this wedding was a guaranteed hit.

marc d was on hand as the toastmaster, exuding his usual charm and reassurance, sarah critchlow was working her photography and her knowledge of the venue ensures great memories captured on film for posterity. in the evening ian at disco fever was going to lay his starlit dancefloor which is a unique way to get the party started.

Jaideep g was working the room for the C & B team and checking everything (he has been voted employee of the year at buxted park – congratulations jaideep from mr pollen 1 and 2 and all at team pollen!)

You don’t often get to see a room at a venue at night – generally show rounds happen during the day and sometimes if you visit a venue during the week the rooms can be empty so it can be hard to envisage how things might look on your own special day.

From our own experience at pollen HQ and from talking to our couples, there are two parts to the wedding reception, first you have the  fine dining  and all the traditional bits, the speeches and the cutting of the cake and then later on its time for a big old party

Everybody wants their guest to have a good time and after the event remember it as a very happy and a really good do!

Our lighting backdrop can go behind the top table and also cover the big seascape picture which I understand is not to everybody’s taste – no comment at Pollen HQ then it stays up for the dancing, the dance floor goes down in front of it.

What we are looking into doing for couples who have booked with us already and who prefer the daytime to be more low key and understated (without the backdrop) then once the evening want their day guests and evening guests to get the full party treatment (with the backdrop)  – we will offer a set up service when the room is turned round for the DJ/band/dancing – obviously that means that Pollen4hire team members would need to come back to the hotel but for our valued Buxted customers who have booked with us already this is an available option – in the first instance contact Donal or Dex to see what they can do for you too.

Another option which we have already started to work on is where we have set up the back drop as we did this weekend for a couple and then the following day the next couple also wanted to use it – we can leave it up and they share the cost –  that saves a bit of money so you can treat yourself to an evening buffet upgrade, late night bacon sarnies, or put a bit more behind the bar!
