for peonies and stunning tall delphiniums so plenty in this tall vase arrangement in front of the mirror in the library at Buxted Park - new ultra champagne sashes on the chairs, just the right colour to match that first glass after the ceremony as husband and wife

Lisa popped into the studio the other day for some props and bits and bobs for an engagement photo shoot, we have known lisa for a very long time, so as far as we are concerned if lisa wants to borrow some stuff she can have it- she picked out some great items, Donal whipped up some flowers ( as you do) and she disappeared off with a lovely haul!
we had a look at the pictures tonight ( follow the link) and they are gorgeous. the thing about Lisa is that she really does do vintage- its not just an label she has tacked on to her photography- she’ s got a very genuine authentic vintage style. Have a look for yourself, I feel sure you’ll love them, the colours and tones are particularly beautiful
you must like tying bows? ( I do actually - today in the library at Buxted Park with the window open and lawnmower in the background, the sun shining on the newly mown lawn, it was a quintessentially English scene - I was dreaming that someone might even bring me a Pimm’s!)
that must be a lot of washing? ( it is, it’s a mountain of chair covers!)
you must have been a part of a lot of weddings? ( we have, 100’s)
that last statement is always a good reminder to us as to why we have. we haven’t lost any of the enthusiasm we had since we did the very first one more than 10 years ago.
here are some more pictures from Ellie and Spencer’s wedding at Newick Park. It was a gorgeous day and we were really pleased to be a part of it

thank you for the lovely pictures, the bouquet Donal designed was wild and floaty as if it was picked from the garden, gorgeous and seasonal, including nigella, palest blue delphinium, sweet peas and lily of the valley
then to the reception at Buxted Park
we were so pleased to be a part of the special day
We needed a bit of cheering up this week as one of the pollen family of animals has been unwell, so although outwardly the show must go on of course- we have been working very hard as always to make all our customers events very special - behind the scenes there has been a lot of rushing to and from the vets ( special thanks to all the team at Grove Lodge Worthing,) fortunately woody our lovely brindle lurcher has perked up – so much so that he was ready to watch England play from his favourite spot in front of the TV- he loves the football.
During the week this lovely lady arrived unexpectedly at Pollen HQ with the most spectacular cake baked by Purita Hyman.
Carrot cake with white chocolate cigarillos………………..! I took this picture of donal with the cake, you can’t see but half of it is already eaten, oh it was so delicious – we had to do some stage managing with the picture to show how gorgeous the cake decoration looked – as the other side had been ravaged by the pollen team!
Suitably fuelled with delicious cake we were ready to work hard and on Saturday both brides were planning outdoor celebrations. At Pelham house it was an outdoor garden party theme with a gorgeous tulip called ‘purple prince’ as the star of the show. The ceremony was in the garden room, we used our new purple taffeta sashes, and then all the staff were going to set up the tables outside on the terrace for the wedding breakfast. Fortunately for once the weather was playing ball. We put lots of storm lanterns outside and sparkly lights in the topiary box bushes and decorated the wrought iron arch for some gorgeous photo ops, so as the twilight came down the lights would create a subtle ambiance and magical setting. We left one of our handmade boxes filled with our confetti cones with complementing pollen petals - we loved being a part of it and the brides mum was taking photos of everything being set up as a special pictorial record.

At Newick Park we used our silver based vases with lovely roses including metallina and amnesia with our complementing petals, lots of storm lanterns and vintage accessories to complement the lovely house and its sophisticated setting - its a third blog post special I can’t fit it all in……………………………!
An exciting week at pollen towers – (so much news in a two blog special)
Donal went to the wedding showcase at the Covent Garden on Wednesday and came back very inspired and full of ideas, I know he was particularly impressed by Zita Elise and her innovative vintage eclectic designs and and I have got some picturesof herunique style that really show the attention to detail and intricate construction which is also very much part of the pollen ethos.
He also came back with some vintage roses that he had been looking for to match some fabric for a wedding this weekend – a gorgeous colour - I have got more photos of the whole stunning theme
that transpired into this beautiful event at Newick Park with the inaugural Pollen4hire Cheltenham chair covers set up outside the loggia for the ceremony. I was sat outside with the sun blazing down, putting on the chair covers and sashes and thinking “is this work, I’m really enjoying myself !?” It was so peaceful, the occasional call from the peacocks, a lovely calm atmosphere.
Leo ferenc arrived to work his videography magic – the ‘marry-oke’ you have got to see it, totally memorable like nothing else, go to his website for more details
On Thursday we were at a marquee at Buxted Park with our chair covers for a corporate event linked to the world cup ( come on England!) – a first for us, 150 seated on the lawn outside the orangery, it went up on the Thursday and was down again by the time we arrived on Friday morning for Ben and Tess’s wedding, you wouldn’t have known it was there, (reassuring for the bride and groom.)
