marquee wedding flowers

we have got a great new range of British hand made pottery jugs which look fantastic in marquees.

because you tend to get a lot of white from the canvas, it  is great to add a bit of colour with the decorations. these jugs are all in rose themes so you can have a different style for each table and as you can see the displays don’t go over the 17inch rule – where people can’t see over them- v. important.

the other good point is that although very tall displays do look stunning you need to have a very flat table and often marquees are in gardens or on lawns that are not level. keeping the centre of gravity low can be a good idea. our pottery jugs are sturdy, don’t need a huge amount of flowers and are practical and very pretty.

the smaller jugs can be used to hold one rose head, in the pictures we have used a freeze dried rose head in dusky pink which really fits the vintage garden theme and also our new petal colour ‘purple rain’.

over the last few years we have been doing less marquee weddings, I think maybe due to the unreliable summer weather . however a marquee can be a great option – we went to one in the winter and it was fantastic, the weather wasn’t great but we had our storm lanterns outside to mark the way to the loo’s and everyone stayed inside, we had a great meal and then non stop on the dance floor until the early hours. the weather actually made it , as instead of getting dispersed outside we all stayed in the tent and mingled, there was a great atmosphere. truly memorable!

we have added a new marquee category to our directory so suppliers come forward and we’ll add you no problem. At Stanmer House there is a marquee permanently erected so you get the best of both worlds and many venues will allow a marquee to be added including Newick Park, Bartholomew Barn,Slaugham Place and stunning Broyle Place.
