Thanks to anyone/everyone who transmitted good weather vibes as the sun did come out today. We were decorating the Wordsworth and Gladstone rooms at South lodge, Lower Beeding and all of a sudden the sun came out. !
We have had a great couple of weeks. Donal has been creating amazing designs that even after nearly 10 years still cause me to go ‘ wow ’. I have been working at my speciality, not quite so wow but pretty vital, ensuring that we are always where we need to be, at the right time and with the right equipment, and spares of everything you could think of. I did have a mini challenge as the sat nav packed up at a crucial moment (amazing what a quick whack will do – all of a sudden working again!)
Speaking of wow factor we worked at the Old Market Hall, Hove recently with the Fabricate team, amazing draping and lighting effects, the venue was transformed by the time we had all finished
We also worked with Fiona Hosford (harpist) recently at lovely Deans Place Alfriston, unfortunately the weather was a bit inclement and the harp needed to be quickly moved out of the gazebo and indoors. Harp handling assistant Dex at the ready! All the boys at the wedding were dressed and scrubbed up so I couldn’t stand by and not lend a hand. We have worked with Fiona over many years and she is a perennial favourite with customers and venues. Highly recommended.
(Dean Place is a complete favourite of ours anyway but there is the added bonus of going to Badgers tea rooms after we have finished, for something to eat. Totally delicious food. The tea house was the village bakery for over 200 years until 1933, and the tradition of exceptional baking on the premises continues. Enjoy tea, proper coffee, cakes, scones and light lunches in the cosy tea room or the flower-filled walled garden.)
Joanne from Elegant Stationery was also at Deans Place with her lovely finishing touches – check out her lovely items here
We worked with Leo Ferenc at Buxted Park last week. Leo is a brilliant videographer and puts everyone at ease, he took some clips of us working, so we immediately tried to suck our stomachs in (well I did) and I piped up that I thought I might now need an agent- the looks I got back from Donal indicated that this was not going to be the case, so I went back to garlanding the banisters and kept quiet! We were transforming the Orangery into a hot pink paradise with these gorgeous martini vases. The bride had also hung butterflies from the ceiling and placed them in the bay tree’s – stunning

We saw this fantastic post box at Buxted park for putting cards in, never seen one before, I tracked the company down and added them to the directory, your wedding post box, a brilliant idea
On a final note by tomorrow we will have confirmation of some new flower school dates in September. Have a good weekend
