Vintage Inspired Weddings

The couple really liked the idea of a black and white theme but with a more vintage feel and as you can see from the stunning pictures www.devlinphotos.co.uk they really pulled it off. So much so that we were all delighted for them that their wedding was featured on Rock my Wedding www.rockmywedding.co.uk

There was a very happy atmosphere on the day, Stephen was around while were setting up, looking very chilled and Claire was getting ready in her hotel suite. Donal delivered the bouquets himself as he always does and was able to keep Claire updated that all was going to plan downstairs.

The hotel itself was looking particularly impressive as there were swathes of daffodils gently nodding their heads in the breeze and the spring sun shone throughout the special day. Lots of opportunities for photos in the magnificent grounds of the historic house.

We used our chiavari chairs for the ceremony in the Coat of Arms lounge and added lots of little details.

The bride and grooms chairs had mini posies attached at the back and we found a vintage crystal rose bowl to use for the registrars table, instead of a more traditional arrangement, to add that vintage inspire twist.

For the flower girl we made a little princess wand with a pretty butterfly and Donal tied a locket into the bouquet that had very special meaning to Claire and also included her special flower, freesias.

Donal also found some antique cut glass crystal pieces at an auction in Lewes and also the French mirror which we used as a seating plan.

After the ceremony the chairs were moved by the hotel staff down to the Orangery which is part of the excellent service the hotel provides.

On the candelabras in the Orangery we hung vintage crystal droplets and around the base there were diamante encrusted tea light holders with mini ‘Avalanche’ rose posies inside. Donal made the little holders himself to add that special touch as we couldn’t find any for sale.

We also were given some pre-loved letters to spell out the word ‘Love’ and a picture frame to go next to the confetti petals basket with a message to all the guest to help themselves was made for us by Joanne at Elegant Stationery www.elegantstationery.co.uk . We put these on the piano at the entrance to the Orangery.

The bride and groom were really lovely to work with and we hope the pictures will provide ideas and inspiration to other couples planning their own special days; we loved being a part of the day and wish them both every happiness.
